The Goal of the Hocks Noise Braker
Protect your hearing, and still hear!
Normal hearing protection seals off the ear with an insulating material (like foam, or silicone), thus blocking sound from entering the ear. Ears are protected, but a few problems can come as a result. People have to shout at each other in order to cary on a conversation, and workers can sometimes be unable to hear warning noises (like shouts or alarms). Other problems come about from having the ear completly sealed off, leaving a stuffy, plugged up feeling. The Noise Braker® was created to help with these problems.
The Noise Braker® is a filter. As such, it lets air and sound through. The Noise Braker® is designed to reduce the intensity of sound waves, as the sound waves get stronger. (See how it works.) This way the wearer can cary on a normal conversation. The normal voice can be heard with slight reduction of volume, while the machine in the background is filtered out to a greater extent.
